Are Red Rugs Right for You?

Red really is color of passion but when you see red on a rug, you might be wondering how it would work out in your interior. We took a look at one website like HomeDecorators.com and found that red rugs can be exciting. They can evoke passion and excitement. Needless to say, if you're decorating your online headquarters, you shouldn't use red carpets. But if you're decorating any other kind of space like your bedroom or hotel room suite, rugs with red shades are something you need to think about.

Red rugs don't just come in plain colors. There are those that are made with prints and in different hues. Whether or not a red rug will look good in your interior, we really can't say for sure because that really depends on a lot of factors, including what's inside the room. But if you really want to know, just go ahead and check out magazines and websites that specialize in interior decoration. You can also consult with an interior decorator.

How much do these rugs cost? Well, that really depends a lot of things, the most important of which is the size of the rug. Obviously, the smaller rugs are much, much cheaper than their jumbo counterparts. A 2”x4” rug typically costs $70 while rugs in the 12”x14” size cost at least a thousand dollars.  If you're keen on buying a quality AND big rug, it might disrupt your family's budget, however. You can get away with it by buying rug brands that have financing options. Karastan, which is probably the oldest brand of machine-woven rugs, offers financing through GE Capital Sales Financing. We're not sure about other brands but we're pretty sure many of them have some type of in-house financing for their customers.

If they do not offer financing, rug brands typically offer rebates and rewards to customers who buy a lot of items from them.

As far as common sense goes, when you're buying a rug, no matter what the color, you should do comparison shopping with at least three stores for the same brand. Some stores will offer their merchandise at a cheaper price than the others.

In all, red rugs like blue rugs are a somewhat exotic type rug because of their color. Unlike a blue rug, however, there are probably fewer spaces where it would be appropriate to use a red rug. As we said earlier, a bedroom or hotel room would look more warm and exciting with a red rug on the floor. But that's just us talking. Since we're rather inexperienced in interior design, it's really better if you look at interior design magazines or consult a professional interior decorator for ideas on how you should use red rugs.
